Charlotte Mason was a 19-century British educator who sought to promote and develop child training and education within the home. She encouraged "the gentle art of teaching" children.
My website is named after her because it is her philosophy and Christian-based method of education that opened my heart and mind to the grander picture of what I should strive to make of my hearth and home. Her writings taught me that teaching my children was more...much more...than what was learned in a textbook. The process and joy of learning should not be restricted to 12 years within a classroom; but broadened to a lifetime of learning within our homes, churches, and community.
